A VERY CONCERNING PAPER FROM 2014: PRIONS AND CANCER: TWO AUTHORS FROM THE WUHAN INSTITUTE OF VIROLOGY AND ONE FROM THE SECOND MILITARY UNIVERSITY
This paper discusses how the Prion protein is also involved in tumorigenesis, in addition to classic Prion disease. This explains my recent interest in the similarities of COVID, Long COVID and cancer cachexia. What is interesting is that they found, contrary to neuroprotection, the over-expression of PrPC resulted in degeneration of the central nervous system, in addition to peripheral neuron and skeletal muscle loss. The paper further elucidates the up-regulation of proteins of PRNP family has been detected in many different tumor tissues and cancer cell lines including breast cancer, colorectal cancer, gastric cancer, prostate cancer, melanoma, pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, glioma, and osteosarcoma. It is perhaps most important to note that the prion protein is anchored to the cell membrane. It is of perhaps no coincidence that the spike protein from the mRNA and DNA therapies is also anchored to the cell membrane.
